Welcome to OUES PTO

MISSION

The Old Union Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non-profit organization focused on providing programs, resources and services to enrich and maximize the education of OUES students, and to ensure an environment of excellence for our students, teachers and staff, while fostering of relationships and providing a corridor of communication between parents and the school community.

WHO WE ARE

The OUES PTO is comprised of Executive Board Members, Committee Chairpersons, and PTO Volunteers who dedicate their time, treasure, and talent. The PTO is managed by an Executive Board of parent volunteers who sit alongside School Administrators.

The Executive Board is made up of various roles and responsibilities that align with the Core Values of CISD. They are a unified membership that serves on committees of interest and directs programs on behalf of, and for the benefit of, OUES parents, students, faculty, and the surrounding community.

HOW WE SPEND OUR RESOURCES

The following examples are not exhaustive but serve to illustrate the many ways the OUES PTO supports Old Union Elementary, its staff, and students.

  • Upgrade the campus facilities to enhance learning and play. Some examples include: soccer field with turf, musical garden on the playground, track and put put, a state-of-the-art gym projection wall and virtual gaming system, as well as an outdoor reading environment for Mrs. Mitchell and students. *Note: Coming soon…Campus Improvements page with Before & After photos.

  • Equip classrooms with enrichment items (legos, digital learning subscriptions, musical instruments) to foster creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning.

  • Provide Teacher Appreciation Programs such as training opportunities, bi-weekly snack cart, restocking of Teacher Lounge refreshments, and updates to classrooms (blackout shades, sound proofing).

  • Fund student related expenses such as field trip buses, class parties, and “High Tech, High Touch” science program.

  • Execute School and Family Events, such as Dragon Dash Obstacle Course, Family picnic, informational breakfasts, and more.

  • Manage the Spirit Shop's operations by sourcing, producing, and managing the sale of apparel and merchandise, elevating school spirit and pride through a diverse product offering.

  • Produce an 80+ page annual publication that captures the vibrant school community and showcases student achievements, activities, and memories.
